This is what it is all about for those of us that joined the service, trying to make the world a little bit better place.

I found out about this from a friend of mine who emailed me the story and snopes verified it’s true, so for those of you who want to think that all the military ever does is shoot and kill maybe this will help you to re-evaluate your attitude some.

I’ll paste the email here and you can always go to the link and see it for yourselves.

Wouldn’t it be fitting if this went completely around the world!…..
This needs to make headline news…not some of the other junk that makes the news these days!!! Like the Rosie O’Donell war of words…celeb weddings…who’s not wearing undies…e t c.

If you agree, please pass this along.

It’s a tough, but heartwarming story…with a picture of John Gebhardt in Iraq .

I checked it with SNOPES. It is authentic.

John Gebhardt’s wife, Mindy, said that this little girl’s entire family was executed.  The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head…but they failed to kill her.  She was cared for in John’s hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan. The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both slept in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.

He is a real Star of the war, and represents what America is trying to do.

This, my friends, is worth sharing.  Go for it!!  You’ll never see things like this in the news.  Please keep this going.  Nothing will happen if you don’t, but the American public needs to see pictures like this and needs to realize that what we’re doing over there is making a difference.  Even if it is just one little girl at a time.

A day that will live in infamy

Not so much is said anymore about Pearl Harbor.  Time passes by and we forget those thing that have happened which changed our world, the people who were there have grown old and many of them are no longer with us to tell us how it was when they were young.

I sailed into Pearl Harbor once on the USS Kittyhawk.  I was proud to man the rails as we went past the memorial to the USS Arizona.  We should never forget the events that happened that day, nor the events that led up to it.  Just like we should never forget 9/11 or what led to that either.

I hope that my children don’t ever have to have their version of Pearl or 9/11, but I am too smart to know that they wont.  We are a free people and there will always be forces out there that want to take that away or make us scared and I hope that we will always have the kind of men and women who when the call is put out will respond and fight.  Not for the love of fighting, but for the love of freedom.

How Stupid can one person be??

December 5th, 2007 | 2 Comments | Posted in People are Stupid, WTF

Just when you think you have seen all the stupidity the world can handle, along comes The View with even more inane bullshit like this.  Their new hostess Sherri Shepherd has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that she was not hired on because she is smart.

The new co-host of “The View,” Sherri Shepherd, insisted Tuesday that Christianity was older than ancient Greece, and even Judaism.

Shepherd — who said earlier this year that she didn’t know if the world was flat or round — said during a short-lived discussion of Greek philosophy on Tuesday’s show that she was pretty sure nothing “predated Christians.”

How fucking stupid can you be.  “Nothing predated Christians”.  Maybe she should read last posting I did becasue I am pretty damn sure that the Dinosaurs predated Christians.

Seriously, how stupid can you be.  She doesn’t know if the world is round or flat?  Where in the hell did they find this idiot and why the hell are people watching this show?

God, the gene pool needs a good cleaning and lots of chlorine.

Enter the Dinosaur

Now this is just fucking cool

WASHINGTON  —  One of the most complete dinosaur mummies ever found is revealing secrets locked away for millions of years, bringing researchers as close as they will ever get to touching a live dino.

The fossilized duckbilled hadrosaur is so well preserved that scientists have been able to calculate its muscle mass and learn that it was more muscular than thought, probably giving it the ability to outrun predators such as Tyrannosaurus rex.

There’s more.  You go read now.

No retirement here

Saw this over on Dr Sanity’s site once and decided to see how much this little do-dad says my blog is worth.

Guess I can’t sell it and retire off of the earnings…  *sigh*

My blog is worth $564.54.
How much is your blog worth?
