Clay Akin is… wait for it… GAY!
I know, shocking to me too but there it is. How did he manage to hide it for so long? Boy was I fooled… yea, right.
The cover of the latest People magazine shows Aiken holding his infant son, Parker Foster Aiken, with the headline: “Yes, I’m Gay.” The cover also has the quote: “I cannot raise a child to lie or hide things.”
Yea, well Clay, you weren’t hiding it very well to begin with so I guess your safe on not telling lies.
Wonder what Kathy Griffin is going to have to say about this?

Former contemporary Christian singer Ray Boltz also “came out” last week and declared his homosexuality. What a shame. I loved his “Watch the Lamb”–it was one of my favorites. I will never hear it the same way again–to know that Boltz was living a lie all those years when he claimed to be living for God.
I quit listening to Amy Grant and Vince Gill when it was revealed that she had gotten pregnant in their extramarital affair while still married to someone else. I don’t think I can listen to Boltz any more, either.
It’s not that I’m passing judgement on them, only God can and should. However, I believe that anyone who makes a living from his/her walk with the Lord (whether it be Christian artist, Pastor, Christian school teacher or whatever) should be held to a higher standard, for whatever he/she does is directly connected to God. People look up to them. To flaunt God’s commandments like that hurts the Christian walk of others and I do believe they will have to answer for that to the Almighty one day.
The one thing Paul cautioned Christians most to do was “…take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to them that are weak.” (I Cor. 8:9) Boltz and Grant should have thought on this before they positioned themselves as Christian artists.
No, Clay Aiken did not position himself as a Christian artist, but Boltz and Grant did. That, in my mind, puts them at a higher level of expectation when it comes to behavior. That’s why I won’t listen to them anymore, but still enjoy the work of others like Noel Coward, Cole Porter, Rock Hudson, and Liberace. At least they were as honest as society in their time allowed them to be.
One more thing: Know what Clay Aiken is doing these days? He’s on Broadway in “Spamalot”–AS SIR ROBIN!!!!!!!!!!!
Big surprise there….

Who is Clay Aiken? Oh, yeah – he’s that gay dude that didn’t win American Idol, right? So, what are we talking about here?
OBTW – I agree, Gatakitty. Dead-on there. That’s why I don’t put Christian stuff on my car. I don’t necessarily drive like Jesus would – unless you consider that Jesus was a carpenter 2000-years ago and inherently wouldn’t know how to drive a car. Then, maybe. I just don’t think that my daily driving glorifies The Lord much…
