Happy Birthday Marines!

Semper Fi!

It was my privileged an honor to serve along the Marines when I was in the Navy.  I have never seen a more dedicated, hard charging group of individuals in my whole life.  This includes some drunken shore leaves, bar fights and even some military actions.

Happy Birthday, Marines!

No School Slavery After All

Well, it seems that Barry has quietly killed his plan to force all us college students who are paying our own way through to also have to give him some of our time as well.  That’s a good thing because I’m already getting enough socialist bullshit from some of my professors as it is, so I don’t need another indoctrination course to go along with what I have already got.

here is what his original idea was

Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

Yes, even if you retire you must still serve the state.  From each according to his abilities – without pay. Most places that is called ‘indentured servitude’ at best and ‘slavery’ at worst.  But he’s changed it so now it reads this way:

setting a goal that all middle school and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year and by developing a plan so that all college students who conduct 100 hours of community service receive a universal and fully refundable tax credit ensuring that the first $4,000 of their college education is completely free. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

Course, I love all the Corps he wants to come up with:

President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps.

I’ve got an Idea for Barry on education – it’s a crazy one, but hear me out.

First, kill the Department of Education since they have done nothing to help education since their inception. Since the Department of Educations creation our schools have been slowly sliding downhill.  I work with ADULTS  -people in their 20s – who do not know what the three branches of government are.  Their answer?  “Isn’t it Republican, Democrat and Liberal??”

Second, kill the “No child” act since all it has done is encourage teaching to a test and lenient grading so that schools won’t lose funding. If the school has a high percentage of students who are failing they lose money – wow, what an incentive to fail a student who isn’t doing well in his classes.

Third, quit raising federal taxes for education and let the local cities, towns, counties and states handle their own education.  If everyone is so worried about one state having less funds per student than another then do the tax and give it to the state with no strings attached except for that it must be used for education.

Oh, wait, all those ideas would take education out of the federal hands (where it doesn’t belong) and give it back to the states (where it does)

As for his other ‘corps’ that he wants, it’s just a craptastic idea for the Health Corps  – the beginnings of socializing health-care while not really addressing the problem.  Clean Energy Corps – We can put them all on hamster wheels to generate electricity for their local schools.  Veterans Corps – I thought we already had something like that called the National Guard, or does Barry want his own military that is outside of state and Congressional control?

Yea, Barry, it’s going to be a long four years and when it is over I hope you haven’t screwed things up too much.

Oh, and who wants to bet we have some big terrorist attacks six months after he takes office?

We can however expect to have a nice police state where any dissenting opinion will be silenced

I’ve been keeping busy with animation stuff for the past few weeks.  The Camaro in the banner above is very close to being done, all that is left is to build out the interior and texture it.

The exterior is done and all that is left is to finish the tires by adding a bump map to simulate the writing on the sidewalls of the tire, and adjusting the texture map to make it look more like nice, shinny rubber.  All in all, I’m pretty happy with it

I even did one for my friend Gatakitty – though I hope to god I will never see this done to a REAL Camaro

Yep, fun with textures and lights.

Oh, and I also did this one too.  I’m planning on doing a junker version of the Camaro for a whole ‘before and after’ animation so I did an old school paintjob to start with as a base.  I need to replace the custom rims with some stock factory ones and remove the air intake from the hood, but it’s a start

It’s over for now

Well, B Hussen Obama was elect president and there weren’t any riots in the streets or people being viciously beaten by roving gangs of conservatives. How much you want to bet it would have been a different story if he had lost?

That is the real difference between conservatives and the new liberals. When we lose we accept it, move on, and plan for the next fight. Lefty Liberals don’t; instead they scream, cry, hold protests and demand the courts to step in. A perfect example is Proposition 8, it passed here in California and what has been happening since then? Protests and demands that the court overturn it.

So for the next four years we will have a president that I have heard many liberals compare to Jimmy Carter, this doesn’t fill me with a warm fuzzy feeling. The best one was “He’s a great thinker, just like Carter. He can take all this information in and assimilate it and then he come out with these brilliant ideas.”  Yes, we’ve seen the brilliant ideas Carter came up with, which is why he is the worst president ever.

In the end the United States will survive this, but it shows what happens when an education system fails to teach our youth to think critically about issues; what happens when we have a society that starts to think that they shouldn’t have to work for what they want and instead the government should take care of them, and what happens when the press become more about propaganda than actual information.

In four years I’ll pull the lever again and it will be for Palin, if she decides to run.  I just hope in four years that the Republican party can remember what being conservative is all about.  If they can’t, the I guess I will join Bill Whittle’s Piranha Party.

But here are the real questions I have:

1- Drawings of Bush showing him as a chip were fine, can we do the same with Obama or is that Racist?

2 – Comparing Bush to Hitler was fine, so can we now point to Obama’s policies and call him a socialist or is that Racist?

3 – Making fun of how Bush talks was fine, so can we now make fun of how Obama stammers around when he is off the teleprompter or is that Racist?

4 – Calling Bush ‘Dubya’ seemed to be OK for the left, so can we refer to Obama as Hussein or is that Racist too??

That’s the problem with having a new president, you have to find out what is fine and what isn’t.  All such a bother, really.

The Fourth of November

Today is the day. Election Day, a time when all citizens have the right and obligation to go and vote for the direction that we want this country to go, and who we want to lead.

My wife and I have done our ballots and cast our lots. I won’t be home tonight to see the results, nor will I be at McCain headquarters here. Nope, I’ll be at work which kind of sucks but since I have to pay my taxes to support the 40% in this country that don’t pay any, it what has to be done. Besides, according to Joe “I’m not a plumber” Biden it’s patriotic to pay more in taxes, so if Obama wins you can bet we will all be very patriotic, indeed.

The saddest part about today is how many people I know at work who are voting and when I ask them what their reasons are for picking Obama the response is almost always “Well, he sounds really good.” Or “McCain is old and Obama is hip.” Then, when I start asking them probing questions about things like Obama’s fund raising, or his connection to socialist causes the response is the same as well “Gee, I never heard about that, are you sure it’s true?”

But my favorite reason that people give me for voting for Obama is “Well, he’s going to take all that money away from the rich.”

When I ask why they are so jealous and envious that someone has more money than they do it’s always the same “Well, it’s not FAIR.”

“Well, how bout you work hard and get a good job and you can become rich too. Just save your money up and invest it wisely.”

That always gets a look like I grew a third eye. “That would take YEARS!!!”

So, it comes down to this, those of us that think that hard work should pay off in the end and not be punished for it versus those who think that they shouldn’t have to work for that 55” plasma TV that they want so they can watch American Idol in style.

I’ve chosen my side, and win or lose we’ll go at it again in another four years.
