A new addition to the family
Yes, it’s true. The wife and I have been thinking about it for a long time and we know that with school and the fact that I am only working part time that this will be a huge responsibility but we just feel it’s the right thing to do.
We bought a Remington 870
I can’t show you a real picture of our little bundle of joy yet, due to the fact that Kalifornia has a TEN DAY waiting period, but we did get the black one with synthetic stock and the extended feed tube. It’s got a 20″ barrel though and the feed tube hold eight rounds instead of 7.
We’ve decided to name him Bruce after our three favorite Bruces – Campbell, Lee and the Shark.
The next one we get the wife wants to name “Little Blackie” for her favorite horse in ‘True Grit” so the next one will also be evil and black, just in a 20 gauge version.
Oh, and I have already decided on the perfect birthday present for Bruce.
Rifle sights are also going to be added in the future as well as a butt cuff ammo holder… gee, who do I know that could make one of those.
I see quite a few more additions of this kind in our future.
**UPDATE**
Also, this removes one item from the list
**UPDATE AGAIN**
I find it to be somewhat of a cosmic balance that while my favorite blogger of all time Rachel Lucas is going to a place sans firearms, I am now begining to add to my own collection of weapons – sort of a zen thing I guess. Or, maybe not.

Hmmm… Yea, I could probably help you out on something. I don’t know though. My leather might look kind of tacky on your plastic… I’ll have to think on it.

LOL, yea he would count in there too, wouldn’t he.
I promise to say “Yippie Kay-a, motherfucker” every time I jack that first round in it.

Every time? That’s quite an oath right there! I never know what I am going to say when I’m pumping mine. Sometimes it’s ‘get out of my house’ sometimes ‘where are all the white girls at’ and other times it’s, ‘that’s not your purse’. Whew! Well, I’m sorry about your waiting period. I’m excited to see it. One of these days, we’ll get together for that range session. Then, we can compare hardware and stuff.

Woo-Hoo!
Shotguns are big-fun, Congrats!
As it happens, later this week I’ll be picking up …
..this.
I usually end up humming ‘Streets of Laredo’ when sighting in for a Long Shot, but I haven’t actually come up with a catch-phrase… yet.
I am thinking about having “Job 38:11″ engraved on it, though.
