The smackdown is still going on at Quoth the Raven and I urge everyone who appreciates their freedom to take a few minutes and go help kick some terrorist videos off YouTube since YouTube won’t do it themselves.

You can read my original post on it here but what you really need to know is posted below.

1. Create an account on YouTube so that you are able to flag videos for deletion for hate speech and violence
2. Go to the Operation: You Tube Smackdown website to view the list of terrorist videos they have found.
3. Go to the video and mark it as hate speech.
4. Rinse and repeat as often as necessary.

Isn’t this special

Everyone I meet, when they find out I’m in grad school always ask the same thing “So you’re going to stay in California after you graduate, right?” As if there is no other place in this country that you can live if you are a modeler/game designer.  My answer is always the same “Not if I can find a job anywhere else.”

And here is yet one more reason to leave the state of Kalifornia behind.  Not only do we have almost 10% taxes in some areas (in my neck of the woods the tax is 8.75%) but now, the governor – a 100%$ RINO who has forgotten everything about being a conservative that he once spouted off about – has gotten behind a proposal to triple the car tax for registration.

Under the agreement, GOP lawmakers — most of whom have signed anti-tax pledges — would vote to triple the vehicle tax in exchange for a ballot measure that would impose rigid limits on future state spending. Democrats and advocates for the poor say such limits would cripple government services.

Motorists’ annual fees would rise from 0.65% of the value of their vehicles to 2%. For a car or truck valued at $25,000, the increase would be $336.

Right now my wife and I have a 2005 Saturn Vue, we bought it new and have taken very good care of it, but it’s almost five years old right? Most people seem to start thinking of a new car when it gets to that age (we aren’t, we like this one just fine).  I just got the registration notice for it that says with all the fees (registration fee, licence fee, county fee, smog fee…) the total for me to renew my plates is $179 bucks

$179 dollars to register a car that’s five years old.  That means that if they triple it like they want to, my fee will go up to about $340 which is money I can’t afford.

I’m tired of the “Let’s help the poor” in this state when they won’t do anything about the illegals.  Right now, illegal immigrants cost this state about $10.5 BILLION a year - well there’s a way to close the budget gap!  As for the ‘poor’ they can have the jobs that the illegals won’t be filling.  The Octomom can actually get out and do something for a change instead of her current hobby of invitrofertilzation.

California’s belief that they can tax themselves into prosperity has never worked and WILL NEVER WORK!  All they have done is driven more and more companies out of the state and then raised the taxes on the ones that remained to make up the difference.  This is liberalism at it’s finest and I can’t wait to leave it behind me.

Now this only makes reference to language-revisions for this section of the Bill, but THIS LINK will take you to the ‘Benefits’ section itself – to wit:

(a) In general
The Director shall provide for members of the Civilian Community Corps to receive benefits authorized by this section.

(b) Living allowance
The Director shall provide a living allowance to members of the Corps for the period during which such members are engaged in training or any activity on a Corps project. The Director shall establish the amount of the allowance at any amount not in excess of the amount equal to 100 percent of the poverty line that is applicable to a family of two (as defined by the Office of Management and Budget and revised annually in accordance with section 9902 (2) of this title.[1]

(c) Other authorized benefits
While receiving training or engaging in service projects as members of the Civilian Community Corps, members may be provided the following benefits:

(1) Allowances for travel expenses, personal expenses, and other expenses.
(2) Quarters.
(3) Subsistence.
(4) Transportation.
(5) Equipment.
(6) Clothing.
(7) Recreational services and supplies.
(8) Other services determined by the Director to be consistent with the purposes of the Program.(and there’s more)

So – Wages, Housing, Subsistence (food), Transportation & Clothing.

Now, over the years, I’ve built a couple of ‘Habitat’ houses, done pro-bono Legal Advocacy for the local domestic violence shelter and volunteered with a small-town migrant-farm-worker association.

But reading through THAT list of ‘Benefits’, what has become clear is that I’ve apparently lost track of where “Volunteering” ends and where “Working on the Government Collective” begins…. Or is it just me?

So, if your school takes any grant money, guess what!  You’ve just volunteered!!  Course, if everyone stops taking grant money that would fix it – until they amend the law that forces you to take the money.

Vet’s to pay for their injury treatment

Yea, that’s right.  To those who said “Oh gee, Obama doen’t really mean it…” well he sure as fuck does. He plans to make our vets pay for their medical treatment out of their private insurance.

The leader of the nation’s largest veterans organization says he is “deeply disappointed and concerned” after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.

“It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan,” said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. “He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it.”

Not an “idea”, not a “maybe”, he’s said he is going to do it and he told the veteran organizations who tried to talk him out of it to essentially fuck off.

Why? Because it will save money in his budget.  You know, the 1 TRILLION  dollar pile of steaming crap that does nothing but shove more big government down out throats.

We have BILLIONS to give to companies that don’t deserve to be bailed out but “are to important to fail” but our government can’t find $540 million to treat the bravest and the best of us with.  And, if you don’t think our Soldiers, Sailors,  Marines and Airmen deserve to be taken care of by the government that sent them into harms way then I have no use for you.  Even the worst communist country takes care of it’s soldiers, and yet ours will be told to get private insurance and “Good Luck”

When you are in the military you are considered property of the US government.  That means that you don’t have insurance because the government is taking care of you.  So, once you get out and are a civilian, anything that you get out with (damage wise) is considered a pre-existing condition that the VA takes care of and private insurance won’t touch.

By forcing these veterans to go into the private insurance route it means that, if the private insurance is force to take them (which we will assume they will) that first, the vet will be paying astronomical premiums, plus the deductibles that will be wiped out in the first six months for some guys.  This also means that insurance, which is already expensive, will be forced even higher as insurance companies have to raise premiums all over to cover the kind of treatment that our vets will require.

Let’s also not forget that some companies will hesitate to hire injured vets because it will cause their insurance prices to skyrocket if the company now has to pick up the governments tab for treating these guys.

Some will say “Gee, that doesn’t make sense.  He want’s universal coverage and then kicks the military into private insurance”.  But it does make sense.  Obama doesn’t want a strong military, he wants it weak so by doing this men and women who were thinking of joining will probably reconsider and those who are in will get out.  It has the added effect of driving insurance higher which plays into his universal health care BS by saying “Gee, look how bad insurance costs are.  I can fix it for you” while ignoring the fact that he helped cause it to begin with.

It’s like when Hitler had his brownshirts running around Germany causing problems and he told the Germans ‘If you elect me, I will put an end to all of this’ – Yea, easy to do when you are causing the problems to begin with.

I have an idea for Teh One – how bout you get rid of those 9,000 or so earmarks in the budget that were thrown in from all over the place, I bet you can find $540 million in there somewhere.  Or maybe you can take some of that $4.5 BILLION you gave to ACORN as part of the “stimulus” and use that to take care of our troop – but I guess community organizing is more important that our nations obligations to it’s defenders.

Maybe you can take it out of the $900 Million you’re giving to a bunch of fucking terrorists in Palestine, Hell you can treat the troops and STILL have $360 Million to give to those pieces of crap.  They will still shout “Death to America” no matter how much money they get so who cares.
