Saving a place

October 20th, 2009 | 17 Comments | Posted in I heart Sarah Palin, Libtards

A woman came in last night looking for a book by some feminist author that I had never heard of before, no big surprise there.   So, I look it up in our search engine and the computer says that we might have it in the store.  MIGHT have it, not WILL.  So I tell her that I can check our inventory and see if it’s there and show her the section it would be in.

“No, that’s fine, I’ll find it myself.  I’m going to look around a bit first”

Ten minutes later, as I’m showing another customer to 1984 I run across her in Literature looking around and she barges in to the conversation I’m having with my customer and sneers “Where is the section on Women’s rights?”

I tell her again “It’s upstairs and I’ll be happy to take you to it as soon as I am done here.”

“No, I can find it myself.”  Note the lack of a ‘thank you’.

Sooo, as you can probably guess, I end up helping another customer find the Christianity section, which is upstairs, and as we get to the top of the escalator that same woman is standing in the middle of Independent Readers YELLING “Is there SOMEONE ACTUALLY WORKING here who can HELP ME!!!!”

Once again (because we were slammed with customers) I offer to show her the section and she is bitching the whole way about how the women’s studies section should be near the front of the store because it’s so important and how this author’s book  should be on display because she’s doing a signing tour in California right now and she’s a NEW YORK TIMES COLUMNIST!!

Well, we get there and we have no copies.  She flips her shit over it and repeats how wonderful this writer is and how we should all be required to read her crap and then says “Why don’t you have 900 copies here?!?!  You have plenty of room!  Her book should be displayed all over the store to inspire women everywhere about what they can do!”

I had to.

I know it was wrong but what can you do when the set up is that perfect?

“Well, ma’am, we were going to but we’re saving that spot for Sarah Palin.”

**update**

Welcome to everyone from Brutally Honest, Texas4Palin, wizbang and elsewhere else in the interwebs.  Thanks for the linking and I must say I am stunned that this has been so popular.  Now all I can ask for is a signed copy of “Going Rogue” with the inscription “Instinct,   Thanks for saving me a spot – Sarah”

That would be most awesome.

John McCain will you please go NOW?!

October 4th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in America the beautiful, Cry FREEDOM!

John McCain just doesn’t seem to know when he’s not wanted.   He doesn’t get that the reason he lost the election wasn’t because he was too conservative.  He doesn’t understand that most of us that voted for him wasn’t because we like him at all, it was because we LOVE Sarah Palin.

McCain apparently thinks that the Republican party should be called “Democrat LITE” – Half the corruption of regular Democrats but all the social programs!!!  That is the only reason I can think of that he is out stumping and raising money for moderate Republicans (aka – RINO’s)

Fresh from a humbling loss in last year’s presidential election, Sen. John McCain is working behind-the-scenes to reshape the Republican Party in his own center-right image.

McCain is recruiting candidates, raising money for them and hitting the campaign trail on their behalf. He’s taken sides in competitive House, Senate and gubernatorial primaries and introduced his preferred candidates to his top donors.

“I think he’s endorsed people with center-right politics because he has an understanding that the party is in trouble with certain demographics and wants to have a tone that would allow us to grow,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, the South Carolina Republican who is McCain’s closest friend and ally in the Senate.

“At a time when our party is struggling and has a lot of shrill voices and aggressive voices, he’s one that can expand our party,” said John Weaver, a longtime McCain friend and strategist.

If the party is in trouble, it’s not because you haven’t made the tent big enough, it’s because you have abandoned the principles of the party in order to try and somehow reach out to votes on the left that you think you need when in fact, we don’t.  What we need is a party that stands for something other than what the democrats stand for, imitating the Dems isn’t going to bring people over from the left to the right.

Standing firm in our principle of smaller government, equal treatment before the law, and securing our borders is what will draw the independents to us.  Getting the government out of our homes, our businesses and our health care will draw the people to us; and upholding the damn CONSTITUTION will get the people on our side.  But we sure as hell won’t get them if all you can offer is more of the same crap that they are already getting.  What good is it to be given a choice between an elephant crap sandwich and a donkey crap sandwich – both are CRAP!

Senator McCain, do you really think that it was Sarah Palin that hurt your campaign?  If you think she was such a drag on your campaign, and if she is such a disaster (as your former campain chief strategist Steve Schmidt said) then please explain how it is that her book, after only being out on pre-order for less than two days, is already number one on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Borders websites?

“I think that she has talents, but my honest view is that she would not be a winning candidate for the Republican Party in 2012, and in fact, were she to be the nominee, we would have a catastrophic election result,” he said, according to a report by The Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder from the conference.

“In the year since the election has ended, she has done nothing to expand her appeal beyond the base. … The independent vote is going to be up for grabs in 2012. That middle of the electorate is going to be determinative of the outcome of the elections. I just don’t see that if you look at the things she has done over the year… that she is going to expand that base in the middle,” he continued.

Again, they always talk about “expanding to the middle” which reads to me as “lie to get the votes” and is usually what happens.  Look at last election.  Obama essentially promised unicorns and rainbows for everyone and now that he is in office he hasn’t bothered to keep any of his election vows up to and including getting a dog from the pound.

People don’t want to hear you promise us the moon and stars, we want HONESTY.  The left wants someone to hold their hand and give them everything – health care, social security, you name it and they want the government to have a program that covers it and to get elected they will say whatever is needed.  Why should we emulate that?  Why give the voters a choice between one bad liar and another?

We don’t want more social programs, in fact we want LESS!  We want flat taxes, we want an end to useless government bureaucracies and over-reaching government control.  We want the government to quit throwing our cash away on bailouts, pork barrel spending and hiring CZARS for bullshit reasons.  We want Senators to not get retirement for doing what was supposed to be a public service and then you go back to YOUR REGULAR DAMN JOB!! We want our elected officials to use the same damn programs that they vote to give to us – what’s good for the goose should be good enough for the gander.

I’m no major political watcher, I’m just an average guy, but if these so-called Republican experts can’t see that WE REPUBLICANS don’t want a watered down party that doesn’t represent what we really believe in then maybe it’s time to say goodbye to the Republicans and form a new party with all those patriots that went to the TEA parties to announce that we want our country back.  The Democrats aren’t listening which is obvious as they try and force feed us their health care agenda.  And if the Republicans are going to just be Democrats LITE, then I say it’s time the TEA parties become the TEA PARTY, and I suggest Sarah Palin for our first presidential nominee.
