I’m Not Dead Yet…
School has piled on, like it always does, so I’m not dead I’m just REALLY busy. This week though is spring break so I have a whole ten days to do homework.
The weather out here is warming up and the sun is shining so it looks like we are done with the rain for awhile so the windows are open and Misto is running around like she’s hopped up on crack and jumping from window shelf to window shelf and chirping each time. I think Spring is her favorite season. She’ll hang out at the windows watching and listening to the birds outside (and I am sure she is planning how to get out there and grab one of them).
In other areas, I am saddened and pissed at the health care bill passing. This is not how our government is supposed to be run. 75% of the population is against it and yet Congress rammed it through with bribes and promises. Stupak sold out for airport money, the “Cornhusker kickback” all of it is a disgusting display of corruption and to add icing to the bullshit cake, THEY are exempt from the bill. Yea, we have different rules than they do. The most “Open and Honest Congress EVAH” doesn’t have to live by the rules they pass. Gee, that doesn’t sound like “a government of the people and by the people” that Obambi was talking about at ALL!
I personally will do everything I can this coming election cycle and every one after this to drive every Democrat from office like St. Patrick did with the snakes, and there are many similarities between today’s Democrap party and a snake. I hope by the time the next election is over saying your a Democrat has the same effect as saying your a member of the KKK – Oh, wait, they already have members of the KKK in there. Then we’ll hope they become as popular as having a STD and ring worms.
I have never really been politically active, but I sure as hell have become that was since moving out here and seeing the lunacy that forms the left of our country. I have had high school students try and tell me how evil our government was for fighting in Vietnam but when I ask them very simply “Why were we over there in the first place?” They don’t know!! They have absolutely NO IDEA AT ALL! According to what they learned, we just went over there because we were a bunch of evil white guys who wanted to send the poor off to fight a war for no reason at all!
I want a new Congress, one that will de-fund all the departments that we don’t need to actually do the federal government’s business – the Department of Education, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, Amtrak, GM, Planned Parenthood, ACORN. I want all government grant programs shut down – the governments job is not to give my money away to some program they decide is worthy of it, it MY job to decide if they deserve my cash and then I can give it to them. The easiest form of corruption has been government grants – take that away and a good chunk of the problem is solved.
All I want my government spending money on is the military. That’s what they exist for – not medical research, not airports, child obesity programs, or any of that other crap. All that can be handled by the states and the local communities, and SHOULD BE! The Feds only real job is protecting us from bad guys that would want to invade and kill us – that means military. There are plenty of companies out there that would give money for medical research, homeless shelters, job training and all that other stuff if they already weren’t being taxed and burdened to their financial limit by a federal government that has decided we exist to serve them.
Well, I’m no man’s slave and I intend to make sure they understand this. I will help get every one of them thrown out of office and then I’ll help hold our new reps feet to the fire until they tear down this government that our founding fathers never wanted.

Glad to see you back, Instinct. Was getting worried! And I say amen, amen to your last paragraph especially.

I hate to rain on your parade, but I have reached the conclusion that the only way Congress is really going to get a house cleaning is if a big rock falls to earth and plant’s itself dead over the dome during The State of the Union Address.
I vote agin’em but they still keep piling back in. Not an honest politician to be found anywhere. Not a one of them will even stay bought for a single cycle.

Oh, I’m not pie in the sky “We’ll vote them out and rainbows will appear”, but I do think that there are people out there who will run and do want to clean the place up.
We just need to vote them out before they can become part of the problem down the line.

I still think the FF missed a beat by not adopting the Spartan law that after leaving office the official was immediately put on trial and if convicted ….well maybe I’d settle for life without parole.
Congress (and other office) is like compost…It should be turned over frequently or it becomes toxic.

I will say this. What we see now is the socialist left at its strongest in America. They took over the Dems and used what they had to force this crap sandwich through, but look what it took to do it!
If this is them at their strongest then they are weak and we can beat them. We just need to quit being lazy and get to work. Voting isn’t enough, we have to get in there and be part of the process. We need to join on local levels and work our way through the system and take it over.
We can bring back an honest government, but we are going to have to dive in and fight for it, not just say “Well, I voted and so my job is done.”

I do agree with you on that. After passing a term limits amendment we should then pass a ‘no grants’ amendment as well as one to limit taxes to ONLY income tax locked in at 10% for everyone.

How about a bill of right’s protection amendment? Look at how they keep trying to legislate and litigate against the 2nd?

Opps hit the wrong button before I finished.
How long before they try to amend those 10?
March 23rd, 2010 at 12:10
While I am at it. An amendment that they cannot give themselves raises.

I’m more for that they get living expenses and that’s all. No health care, no retirement, no personal gym. They can pay for all of that from their regular job.
That will keep their sessions short because they will want to get back to work and earn some money, and short is good because they will have much less time to dick around and twist arms.
