Memorial Day

May 31st, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Rough men

For many people, today is a day of BBQ’s, family and the beginning of summer.  For me, like many of us who have served, it a day about those friends we knew while we were in and those who never came home.

To all out there who have lost loved ones in service to our country, my condolences and hope that God will grant you peace.  To those that I served with and have lost touch with over they years, I hope today sees you healthy and happy.  Clay, TJ, Ron, Chester, and Gonzo and Lane – Here’s to you gentlemen, my friends, mentors and fellow sailors.

May the wind always be at your back, and the road rise up to meet your feet.

God bless.

Welcome back!

I would like to welcome Tim Hast back to the blogging world.  He started it a while back blogging about fear and I must say that I liked his writing style right off the bat.

Well, he took some time off but now he is back so go and enjoy what he has to say

A simple wish

I want to be an ogre.

That way, when I kill one of our customers at the store for making a mess people won’t say “Oh my god, he just killed that guy!!!”

Instead they would just say “Well what do you expect, he’s a ogre.”

Yeah, I want to be an ogre.

May 13th was Top Gun Day.

Thankfully I have Air Force Blues to help me properly observe such a noble holiday.

My call sign, according to them, is ‘Shooter’.

I can live with that.
