Donations to Tam – an update

November 9th, 2012 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

I am very grateful for the support I have been seeing from the community for Tam – from the emails I have been getting that is.

I know that some others are doing raffles as well, like this offering of a Viper holster from Dragon Leatherworks.  It is an amazingly nice holster and one that I would love to get my hands on as well, but I’m going to leave it to all of you to get a chance for.

I also hate to mention this, but I would like to think that everyone is going to be honest and use one donation for one raffle.  As I said, I know money is tight and I (and I am sure everyone else) am very grateful you are all stepping up to help out Tam this way.

I’m not sure who else is raffling items off (besides Dragon and Zercool that is), but my goal is to raise as much money for Tam as possible.  So I am thinking that maybe a note in the payment as to which raffle the payment is for to keep it all honest.  For me, put the word RIMFIRE on the receipt and send it in.

Everyone who has donated so far, you are fine.  But forward, if you could note the donation for which raffle, I would be grateful.  If you don’t, I won’t throw it out but I hope you all will

**UPDATE**

This just in….

McThag has just tossed a Spikes Tactical Florida Limited Edition stripped lower into the pot.  Go bid.  Do it now.

Also, Lawdog has some other things that people are putting for raffle as well

Once More With Feeling

November 9th, 2012 | 8 Comments | Posted in Just.... fuck

Tam is having a bad time of things.

Now, I don’t know Tam, not really.  I know Jennifer and I know Tam through her postings.  Anyway, Tam is one of ours and we take care of our own so I’m doing two things.

  1. Clicking on Tam’s donate button.  Even $5 will help.
  2. I’m throwing more grips up for a raffle  from my grip site Rimfire Designs – two sets of grips, either 1911 or Browning’s – your choice of the woods I have, finishes and texturing.  As long as I have the wood, I’ll make them however you want    You donate $5 and I’ll give you a ticket – every five dollars means another ticket..
  3. email it to injennifershead.com – she is now the official tally keeper for all donations to the various raffles going on.  Let her know how much of your donation you would like to go to what raffle.

On Thanksgiving Jennifer will pull the winners -there will be two of them, one for each set and then, if we need to, I’ll do another one in December.

I know times are tough and they are only going to get tougher, but if you can spare less than the price of a box of ammo I would appreciate it.  I know everyone opened their wallets for the KTKC fundraiser and we have the holidays coming up, but I am hoping those wallets can be opened again for someone who we all know and care about.

Plus you can get some sweet grips out of it all – like these!

And I am putting my money where my mouth is by donating today.

Go click and send me the receipt screenshot to get your ticket.

Cancer sucks and deserves to be kicked in the junk repeatedly on a daily basis.

Yeah, I could only do the $5 right now, funds are tight around Casa Instinct.  Send me this and I’ll put your email in the raffle.

***UPDATE***

Got this from Michael, the Evyl Robot himself

“Now, I don’t know Tam, not really.  I know Jennifer and I know Tam through her postings.”

But not me.  I’m chopped liver.  :P   Less of an auction and more of a raffle…  I’ll cross-post as well.

So, now I have to admit that I know him as well  :D

And since he’s right, it’s a raffle, I have updated the post accordingly

***UPDATE DEUX***

Zercool is also raffling off some Dragonworks Holsters as well.  How sweet would it be to have some custom grips that go right along with a custom holster.

Go, donate, send me the receipt.

***UPDATE – THE SEQUEL***

Updated the post to reflect the new way it is being handled to avoid confusion.  Jennifer will tally everything and pull the winners for us.  Jay is going to be ringmaster and have all the raffles on his website with updates, and OldNFO is chief cat wrangler of the group

Not sure how I ended up being associated with such a great group of people, but I am honored to be among them, even in just a small way.
