Smear Merchants

January 21st, 2010 | 3 Comments | Posted in America the beautiful, Cry FREEDOM!, webstuff

I’ve been reading Hillbuzz for quite some time now.  I don’t remember when I first stumbled across them, but I remember being very impressed when the mudslinging started against Sarah Palin and the guys over at Boystown stood up for her, I was equally impressed by their open letter to President Bush when he left office, part of which I’ll post here.

One of the reasons it’s been so hard to put together our thoughts on Bush as he leaves office is because, honestly, we feel badly about the way we’ve treated him, about the things we’ve said about him, all these years.

Because George W. Bush is a decent man with a servant’s heart who did the best damn job he could.  He kept us safe for seven years. He stood up to the bullies and terrorists and scoundrels of the world and said with Texas gumption and flare that America under his watch would kowtow to NO ONE.

Maybe too much Texas for the likes of us city slickers, and maybe a lot of his personal style and flare was hokey or unrelatable to urban elites, but even his loudest critics would be hard-pressed to argue the man didn’t always show his heart — a larger than life heart, beating strongly with a love of country and its men and women in uniform.

These guys got it.  Even though they stand on the other side of the political aisle, they got it and they understand.  They see what has happened to their party and are embarrassed by it. Embarrassed by the thug tactics, the lies, and the outright arm twisting that went on to get Dr. Utopia elected.  And then, they decided it was time to fight back by educating us conservatives on how they do things “The Chicago Way”.  Tactics, battle plans, and behind the scenes information on how the left managed to get where they are.

Why?  I don’t know.  Maybe because they love Sarah Palin (they do, really).  Maybe because they are pissed to see how HIllary was treated by the Dems (they are), or maybe it’s just because they want their Democrat party back.  You know, the party of JFK that said “Ask not what your country can do for you…”  which seems to be all the Dems have to say these days “We’re going to GIVE you healthcare…”.

Because of this, the Hillboys are under attack by the forces of darkness and evil (Kos is darkness, DU is evil; or vice versa).

The Daily Kos and Democratic Underground have outed Kevin Dujan as the owner of the blog, Hill Buzz. They are smearing him with the false charge that that he is a racist. They are urging their readers to destroy his career and attack him physically.

This is how the left works now and I’ve seen some statements from commenters on the right of “Well, when you lay down with dogs expect to get fleas”.  Bullshit.  To pull that kind of response of saying that because they are Democrats who worked on Hillary’s campaign means they deserve to be destroyed by the Kool-aid drinking Obambi left is crap.  IF for some reason you are foolish enough to go with this thinking, then you would also think that a whistleblower like Bobby Boutris ‘deserved’ what he got for working for the FAA in the first place, right?

These guys are fighting to get their party back, just like we are fighting to get ours back too.  We NEED two parties in this country, and two parties that represent the PEOPLE!!  Attacks like this need to be exposed for what they are, cowardice in the highest form.  The racist card is just the latest smear that is thrown out at anyone who disagrees and is the newest form of a blacklist for the left.

Why is the Kos and DU attacking them?  To marginalize them.  Hell, if I was running a campaign I would be calling these guys up and adding them to my staff PRONTO!  Seriously, go read, they know the system and know how to work it.

They need our support.  If you can, go hit their tip jar, read up and fight back, encourage Kevin to write his book (like Cynthia said) and buy it.  Personally, I would LOVE it if he would offer a paper version as well through self publishing or a nice book deal.

I a straight-as-an-arrow, former military, Reagan Republican and I would be glad to take these guys out and buy them a beer.  They are as patriotic and love this country as much as any of us on the right do and while we may not see eye to eye on some things, no one deserves to be attacked like this just because they don’t march in lock step to the Obama, or any other, drum.

Saw this at Brutally Honest and you should really read it.  Seriously, go now!

Despite what Michael Moore implied in his film “Fahrenheit 9/11,” Congress did not base their 2002 authorization for the Iraq War solely on the premise that Saddam Hussein either had or was trying to acquire weapons of mass destruction. Their legislation reads very clearly that America’s purpose in sending troops back to Iraq was to enforce U.N. resolutions, some of which were violated in the 1990’s and probably should have been enforced by President Clinton. Whether actual weapons were found or not, the war in Iraq was legally and morally justifiable, and necessary.

In addition to enduring criticism for his war policies, millions of Americans demanded the new Obama administration prosecute Bush for his decision to indefinitely holding detainees charged with war crimes. When President Obama signed an executive order in May that reinforced that same Bush policy, the far left was mute.

Good stuff, all of it.

Once I have total control

January 2nd, 2010 | 6 Comments | Posted in America the beautiful, ramblings

I have a number of ideas for saving the government money when I become POTUS/ Absolute Ruler of the Free World and I’ve decided to lay them out here for you, my loyal supporters, to see. The battle cry of my campaign is K.I.S.S. – Keep It Simple Stupid.

I’m not an economics major, nor an analyst of any kind; I’m also not a business owner, politician or any other kind of high level thinker type. I’m an average guy with an average brain so I figure if I keep it simple enough that even I can understand it then so can the average American who has to live under them. So, under the KISS principle there are no loopholes, no exemptions (except for food) and no sub clauses to my ideas that exempt one thing and include another. This is what we call “Equality under the law” since with my plan everyone IS REALLY EQUAL!

1 – National Sales Tax – This will replace all other forms of taxes. The National Sales Tax will only tax items at the final point of sale which will help reduce the cost of American made items, free up capital for companies to hire employees, purchase equipment and, most importantly, will put the taxpayer in charge of how much money he is giving to the federal government. You buy a Hyundai Accent, you’ll pay less in taxes than if you get a Lamborghini Diablo.

Food (as I said above) will be exempt under this so you can go to the grocery store and actually buy good food. This means all food – if you can consume it, it’s food. Not doing that stupid ’soda tax’ or ‘cookie tax’ – it’s not the government’s business to control what you eat.

This will also allow me to reduce the size of the IRS and bring it down to a reasonable level. They can then focus on making sure that the sales taxes from businesses are correct rather than chasing after small-time taxpayers while some businesses get away with murder in the accounting department.

2 – Eliminate the Department of Education and the Department of Energy – Both of these are a complete and total embarrassment to America. The Department of Education was formed to our schools turn out smarter students and better schools, while the Department of Energy was created to help reduce our dependence on foreign oil – we can see that they have both failed miserably at both jobs so I see no reason to keep them around.

I’m sure that I will find many more departments in the government to close, such as the Agricultural Marketing Service whose job is described this way:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service administers programs that facilitate the efficient, fair marketing of U.S. agricultural products, including food, fiber, and specialty crops. AMS has about 5,500 employees who are located throughout the United States.

Ummm… can’t the farmers handle this themselves?? I’m sure that they are doing the best job they can, but I would have to pose the question of “Should the government really be involved in this or not?”

3 – Divest the government of all private holdings – Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Amtrak, The Federal Reserve, AIG,and GM. All of these are excesses of government control and as we can see with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, they are a losing proposition. $400 Billion may be chump change to the Government, but this is people money that they are fooling around with, not just magic monopoly money. There is no Constitutional authority or reason for any of this to exist anyway. It’s not the government’s job to give us houses, cars, health care, or trains. It says “The pursuit of happiness” not “Giving you happiness on a silver platter with garnish”.

The government’s job is to provide a standing military to protect us, to negotiate with foreign powers, to print currency, and to help settle disputes between the states. Nothing more, nothing less. These organizations are simply a money pit for the government and a way for corruption to run rampant. Better to sell them off to a private owner and have nothing to do with them at all. As for the Federal Reserve, why are we paying a company to print our own money?

4 – Single Item Budget Bills – I would push for Congress to adopt a “Single Item Bill” concept. All bills must cover only one topic, any amendments to the bill MUST ACTUALLY AMEND THE BILL. That is, if you have a Budget bill that deals with the military’s budget, then that’s all that can be in the bill. No amendments that award $24 million to some state to expand worm farming. It must deal directly with items in the bill that relate directly to the military. Each department of government would have to have this kind of bill. No massive budget bill with tons of crap thrown into the mess. Each department would have to stand up and be voted on to make sure that it is something that is really wanted by the people.

Essentially, there would be no hiding from your vote. No deal making and payoffs with this kind of deal – well, there probably still would be, but I bet it would be less.

5 – Close the Department of Indian Affairs – No one can honestly argue that they, or the federal government, have done the best they can for the Native Americans so let’s close it and turn it all over – money, land and equipment – to the tribes and let them start taking care of themselves. I’m sure they will do a hell of a lot better than what our government has done for them.

6 – Kill all Grants – Grants are the worst use of government money I can think of. Sure, a lot of good has come from them, but I am willing to bet that a lot more good could have come from letting the private sector handle this stuff instead. Why is the government handing out money to study the mating habits of the fruit fly? I bet there are private companies out there who would be glad to support that research because it has something to do with what they do for work. So let them handle it. Also, a good chunk of grand money has gone to groups like ACORN and Planned Parenthood, both of which have shown partisan political stances, have broken the laws on numerous occasions, and to which half the nation is opposed to politically.

To my view, it’s best to just to shut it all down and let people give their money directly to things they wish to support. We don’t need the government’s help in giving our cash away – if anything we need protection from it!

**UPDATE**

Oh, and finally:

7 – War – War with our enemies will be just that, War.  Our military will be given the freedom it needs to take the war to the enemy and destroy them.  Not arrest, not contain, but totally destroy, demoralize and decimate.  Our enemies want us dead and we should have the same stance towards them.  We should take the fight to them so hard and unrelenting that they have nightmares about our forces and plead for us to accept their surrender.

As far as the Geneva Conventions go, our enemy has already broken them over and over again (not that they ever signed on to them in the first place) so they have no right to it’s protection.  BUT, even considering this, they would not have any protection under it since they do not fight in uniform our wear rank insignias and fight for a country so they would instead fall under the military law of the United States which would classify them as spies and saboteurs.  That established I would give them a fair trial and a public execution.

For those who would say that this is too extreme of a stance let me remind you that our enemy has beheaded journalists, civilians, and military personnel.  They have dragged our dead servicemen through the streets and cheered about this.  They will give no quarter in this fight because they think they are fighting for god so we should give no quarter in return because we are fighting for our lives, our freedom and our families.

Christmas, a long time ago

December 25th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in America the beautiful, Cry FREEDOM!, History, Rough men

It was Christmas, 1776, a desperate time for General George Washington and what was left of his Continental Army. From a high point of 30,000 men he had only 2,500 left.

The decline began in August when the British and the mercenary Hessian troops had routed Washington from Long Island and then pushed them out of Manhattan as well. Washington was forced to retreat to New Jersey and by December they had given that up and crossed into Pennsylvania. The British occupied New Jersey, Rhode Island, and New York. To the British is appeared that the rebellion had been crushed and the remnants would soon be rounded up.

Washington’s troops were demoralized and battered. Many of them didn’t even have shoes and instead had burlap sacks wrapped around their feet to try to keep them warm. Washington knew that he had to act quickly before the remnants of his forces fell apart or were killed by the harsh winter so, on Christmas night, he and his forces attempted the most daring attack that they had ever tried, they crossed the ice swollen Delaware river nine miles north of Trenton, New Jersey to attack the Hessian forces that occupied the town.

The weather during the crossing was horrendous; raging winds, snow, sleet and rain created almost impossible conditions, but they crossed anyway and then marched the nine miles south to Trenton. Remember, many of these men, if not most, had no shoes and they marched through blizzard like conditions. These were men who knew what they were fighting for and were willing to suffer the hardships that came with it.

The next morning, December 26th, Washington’s troops attached and overran the Hessian troops who surrendered when their commanding officer was killed. The Continental army then retraced their path and withdrew back across the Delaware taking their prisoners with them.

This was the turning point in the revolution. In its darkest hour when all hope seemed lost and defeat was inevitable, rough men stood forth and grabbed victory for all of us and galvanized the spirit of the Colonies by showing the people that they could win. After this battle the ranks of the Continental swelled and the stunned British army realized they had a fierce opponent who would not go down in defeat quietly.

I write this because it reminded me that while we now face a different enemy that is attempting to rewrite our Constitution and slowly strip us of our right to self determination and freedom from government dictates, mandates and meddling, all is not lost. They may seem to have the upper hand now by controlling Congress and the White House but if we hold strong and fight on we can, and will, be victorious.

Out here on the left coast I encounter so many people on the left who hate anyone or anything that is different than they are. But there is one thing about hate that I have learned, it eats you up and burns you out. The far left tries to claim ownership of the crown of acceptance and diversity because they talk about it all the time, but I learned something from my old martial arts instructor on this matter. Those who practice what they preach don’t need to talk about it because their example will show.

We will win because the left’s ideas are hollow, their compassion false, and we have a better way. Keep the faith my brothers and sisters in God and in the military. We are Americans and we will not go quietly.  Don’t despair and don’t be afraid.  That’s their weapons, that’s what they want.  Look at their ads, look at how they attack anyone who disagrees – hate, fear, cries of racism.  No, we are better than this and we will win.

God bless you all.
