Fortunately, when one door closes God opens another and he now has a few irons in the fire as to what he should do next. One of them is expanding his part time holster making and going full time with it.  So, I ask you with sincere honesty, if you need a holster or know someone who does, please go to his site and order one from him.  It is my deepest desire that he is so busy making holsters and other leather goods (belts, BOOTS… hint, hint..) that it becomes a full time job for him and he doesn’t have time to get another job.

His work is all custom and he can do it however you would like it to be done.  He has examples up on his website so go take a look and, if you need, give him something to keep his hands busy.

What can I say, I’m a follower

We’ll have that drink one day in a far, far better place than here.

I’d love to post this on my blog, but it’s not exactly family-friendly.  Still, I couldn’t resist sharing with those whom I know would appreciate it!

This week my #3 (should still be #1 since they haven’t lost a game!) Georgia Bulldogs play #8 Alabama in a game so big, that even ESPN couldn’t justify not having GameDay on the UGa campus (they’re in Athens for the first time in 10 years).

That caused me to remember the story of the time, somewhere in the 60′s, when UGa played ‘Bama for Homecoming.  There was the big parade the afternoon before taking the traditional route down Milledge Ave to 5 Points, and down Lumpkin St.  The Redcoat Band and the ROTC marched, and all the fraternities, sororities, and other campus groups proudly displayed their floats exhorting the Dawgs to victory.  Then along came one frat’s float, festooned with tampons everywhere.  The slogan?  “Stop the Crimson Tide!”

Another favorite came from an old friend who graduated from the Univ. of S. Carolina, home to the Fighting Gamecocks (whom I used to like–because they hated Clemson–until this full-of-himself coach named Steve Spurrier came along).  One year they played the OTHER USC–Southern Cal.  Annie chuckled with delight on relaying the huge banner prepared by some astute students of her allegiance:  “No Trojans can hold our Cocks”!

From her letter to Moo

To Mickey: I hope you realize how much you were loved and adored. Your daddy thought you hung the moon and plugged in the stars. He walks into the house everyday greeting you with his customary, “Hi, Moo,” because he feels your presence all throughout the house. He misses holding your paw at night while you sleep together. I miss the ‘plat, plat, plat’ sound of your big boy, six-toed paws walking across the kitchen floor. And I miss you purring on top of me while I was watching tv. (I really did not care that you were in the way of the TV, even though I jokingly told you that I did.) And we both miss the way you worked the room for a bite of whatever we were eating. We miss you greeting us at the front door and screaming for us to feed you your wet food. We miss how you lounged directly outside of the bathroom while one of us was in the shower, waiting for our safe return to dry land!

 

You touched our lives immeasurably with your heart and your kind and gentle soul. We thank God that He blessed you to be a part of our lives, even though it was not for as long of a period of time as we had hoped. I guess Heaven must be in need of another angel. And they don’t get more angelic than you.

 

In time, we will all be together at the Rainbow Bridge. Until then, you are with us in spirit; healthy and happy and forever purring at our side.

PS. It was okay that my meatballs were too spicy for you. Tom was just kidding when you refused to eat a bite of one, and he looked at you and whispered, “I’d run if I were you.”

 

To Juliet, Lucy and Girl: Please show Mickey around the place, okay?

 

To Jerry: Another angel will be joining you shortly. Please take good care of our Mickey and tell his some of your jokes. Mickey loves fleece blankets, making bread on anything squishy, and sleeping in sunny spots. And chicken.
