I understand that the word for this would be chutzpah

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration accused Iran on Thursday of entering into a “secret deal” with an Al Qaeda offshoot that provides money and recruits for attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Treasury Department designated six members of the unit as terrorists subject to U.S. sanctions.

The U.S. intelligence community has in the past disagreed about the extent of direct links between the Iranian government and Al Qaeda. Thursday’s allegations went further than what most analysts had previously said was a murky relationship with limited cooperation.

After allowing the ATF to sell guns to the Cartels, many of which have landed in the hands of MS13, one of the most violent gangs in the United States as well as arming the Sinaloa cartel, not to mention the fact that the State Department has also been helping arm the Zeta cartel the Obama administration is pissing and moaning that Iran is doing something bad.

So how is Iran arming terrorists different and/or worse than our own government arming narco-terrorist?? Oh, because one wants to kill us and the other wants to kill us too??

Maybe they should clean up their own act in Washington before doing too much chest thumping over what other other countries are doing.

So after peaking over at Another Gun Blog I saw he had a post about someone I have never heard of who is running for Congress in California and has, of course, adopted all of their nut-job ideas including repealing the 2nd Amendment.

Now, Mike does a very good job at laying out my feelings on this

Repealing the 2nd Amendment doesn’t make it go away anymore than repealing the rest of the Bill of Rights would allow the government to kick in my door and rob, beat, imprison and torture me with impunity. The 2nd Amendment is inherent and inalienable just like the rest of the Bill of Rights. Words on ink & parchment don’t “grant” me the right to keep & bear arms, they merely codify a pre-existing right. My rights, all of them, exist independent of the Constitution.

All of which is very true, but I want to look at it from another angle. The article has a nice little rundown on the nut-job in question and make certain to point out that he was a member of the NRA in the very first paragraph – as if this somehow validates his position

Mike Barkley is a former member of the National Rifle Association.

He has carried a 45 Smith & Wesson as protection against wild boars and mountain lions on his family’s Northern California ranch.

And he knows what crime is like having owned and managed an apartment complex where he lived for nearly two decades in East Oakland.

And then it goes on to lay out his idea because the moron says that “Gun control Laws aren’t working

Barkley, though, has no qualms with individuals exercising the privilege to possess weapons to protect themsleves. To address that he’s proposing a constitutional amendment that would impose an annual tax on every firearm in a household. Taxes would start at $10 for the first firearm, $20 for the second firearm, $30 for the third firearm, $100 each for the fourth through ninth firearms and $1,000 each for any firearm in excess of nine.

And under his proposed amendment should a firearm be lost or stolen it would result in a $1,000 penalty with the penalty rescinded or refunded if the firearm is recovered. But there’s a big caveat to that: If the firearm is used in the commission of a felony then an additional $1,000 penalty will be imposed.

So, since gun control isn’t working he wants to impose… more gun control.

Standard liberal answer. Instead of realizing that gun control is the problem because it disarms the law abiding citizen, he wants to double and triple down on the stupid. And somehow, I will bet, he’s going to get elected.

I can’t wait for the earthquake that makes California and island so we can finally get rid of them.

Oh, and owning a firearm isn’t a ‘privilege’, it’s a God given, fundamental RIGHT of this country and what make us THE greatest place in the world to live.

Morons.

Breda, who I consider a good acquaintance if not yet a good friend, has posted about an incident that she had happen and I am 100% in agreement with her.

A photo her husband took and then she posted to her blog was pirated by Gunmart – yes PIRATED, stolen, illegally used, used in violation of copyright laws – and then linked with the word porn, pisses me off to no end. And after repeatedly being asked to remove the offending post or rename it responds with this:

Gunmart said…

I knew girls like you in High School, but I thought they all grew up.

I am still waiting for you to politely ask me to take it down. No, you havent asked. You have yelled and screamed demands, but I do not respond to that. If you had asked politely instead of jumping off the deep end and started all this silly drama, I would have removed it immediately… and I’m still waiting.

My blog is not run by mob rule, and I will not get dragged into this silly high school nonsense. I’m not gonna play your little Twitter sniping games nor will I chase posts all over the internet.

When you are ready to lose the drama like a mature adult politely address your concerns, I am willing and waiting.

Seriously, you steal someones property and then demand that they kiss your ass before you remove it? How bout this FUCK YOU!

I knew guys like you in high school too. Little self absorbed jackasses that would call a girl a whore, slut or bitch when she wouldn’t go out with you.

As Mike W said, you started this bullshit and then, when you stepped on your dick repeatedly, tried to turn it around so that somehow it was everyone else that was in the wrong and you are the victim. Your name wouldn’t really be Anthony Weiner would it??

I really, REALLY hope that Breda lets the legal eagles peck your eyes out for copyright infringement and slander libel. I also hope that one day you grow the hell up and stop being an attention whore, but I doubt it. I do hope if I ever get out to a gunblogger meet up that you won’t be there because I would hate having to spend half my time at it telling you to go pound sand up your ass.

You have pissed on everyone in the gun blogging community with you douchebag attitude and I for one hope you get all the traffic you deserve from this, which is zero.

Asshole

****UPDATE****

Not only is he an asshole, he is an unoriginal asshole too. Here is his comment policy

He can’t even come up with an original quote on his own, he had to steal it from Say Uncle

So, stole pictures from Breda, words from Say Uncle, and (considering that he blocked all comments) his courage from the Cowardly Lion.

Yep, Grade-A, number 1 ASSHOLE

I would like to introduce you to one of the primary problems with our country today. His file number is EDB1056, but the world at large knows him as Ricky Choi, MD, MPH.

“Now, Instinct,” I hear you saying, “what make the good doctor part of the DB files?”

“Well,” says I,” I will be happy to explain.”

You see, most doctors are willing to stay within the bounds of their education and practice their medicine. Dr. Ricky though, seems to think that because he has MD after his name that he has all kinds of superior knowledge on a unending range of topics beyond medicine up to and including how you vote:

I would argue that nutritious food, safe medications, air quality, domestic violence, affordable housing, access to health care, sex trafficking, cultural factors, schools, safe neighborhoods, voting, human rights, international trade agreements, and the state budget, to the extent they impact health of my patients and communities, are also in my scope of practice.

I’ll bet you didn’t know a medical degree also came with expertise in government, international trade, economics, sociology, and environmental sciences. Now what my voting habit have to do with my health is a mystery to me, but then again I don’t have a medical degree, or a liberal agenda to make sure everyone that I encounter is converted into a mindless socialist drone that just follows the orders of his betters.

Of course, he also is an expert in firearms too

So yes, to ask if a device that is associated with over 30,000 deaths a year and over 50% of suicides is unloaded, locked up, and kept out of reach of children is also well within my scope of practice.

Now, I’m going to take a wild stab and guess that this guy is not a lifetime member of the NRA and also has never even seen a firearm range except for that one time when he was watching ‘Lethal Weapon’ and I’ll be he closed his eyes during that part because it was so disturbing.

This, my friends, is a prime example of the elitist douche bag. It is a person that believes that because they are knowledgeable in one thing that they are knowledgeable in all things. In this case, because he has a piece of paper that allows him to practice medicine in California, he also thinks it allows him to do anything he damn well pleases because he is educated and you are just a simple, working class slob.

I am positive that if he were shown any gun, an type of firearm at all, and asked how to make it safe for storage he would stare like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming truck. He is good at parroting lines “The gun should be locked up and kept out of reach of children” but when it comes to the actual DOING he is most likely just like our president – good with the overarching initial statement, but when it comes to follow through he’s out on the golf course.

So, Dr. Ricky, I do hope at some point you will kindly STFU until you actually know what you are talking about.

Best comment I read on this article

thesixthmoon 10:34 AM on May 5, 2011

“Guns are within my scope of practice.”

That’s great. Can you tell me, do you consider the .380 an effective self-defense round? There is some controversey over this.

God, I am glad I moved to a free state.

Have you ever read something that so moved you that you felt compelled to contact the author and let them know how much their writing meant to you? Well, I got that feeling just the other day after stopping by Breda’s Blog and seeing what she had to say about Eric Heyl.

Now, to say that Eric Heyl is a sexist jerk is probably putting a happy face on this waste of human flesh, but still I decided to contact him and let him know what I thought of this particular article he wrote:

After reading your article all I can say is this: You’re an idiot and know nothing about women, shooting or concealed carry and are also a perfect example of why your profession is referred to as the Lame Stream Media.

I supposed I could have used facts to show that women shooters are the fastest growing segment of the shooting world, and that firearms can be obtained in any color of the rainbow or that you can colorize it yourself using Duracoat, but I said to myself “Self (which is how I talk to myself) all these wonderful facts will be lost on him because A) he is a misogynistic douche bag and B) look at that dead thing on his upper lip!!!” So I kept it simple for him, which I thought was best.

Surprise, surprise!! He responded:

It pains me to have lost the respect of someone who works tirelessly to advance humanity by designing lumpy green ninja-looking creatures. But I do thank you for taking time to share your thoughts.

The “lumpy green ninja-looking creature” he refers to is this.

Ninja-boy here is a character I did as a freshman in undergrad for an animation project, he’s about eight years old now and I use him as a gravitar and kind of a mascot. I also love how in the email he implies that somehow he is working to advance humanity and attempts to shoot me down with that. I never said anything about advancing humanity to him, so I guess he is projecting – maybe he should have his therapist explain what that is to him. Also, since he seemed confused about his status with me, I replied:

Actually, you have that wrong (as in most things you do) – you never had my respect in the first place.

I was considering becoming a columnist and writing ignorant, misogynistic pieces about topics that I had no knowledge at all but since you have that market covered I decided to be an animator instead. At least with my field we admit that what we create is a fantasy from our minds.

And again, he wrote back! We are well on our way to being regular chatty Cathys!

Delightful. I’m certain you’ll soon have the lumpy green ninja-looking creature market cornered. Thanks again, my hostile animator friend.

Hostile?? Hmmmm…. he must be projecting again, I don’t think I wrote one hostile word at all. Sarcastic sure, but hostile? Nahhhh.

I’m considering writing back to him just to point out one other fact that he has missed (hey, so far he has missed almost every fact that has come his way so at least he’s batting 1000 there) – Ninja-boy is YELLOW, not green. You would think he would be very familiar with the color yellow since it’s the kind of journalism he practices every day.

It figures that MSNBC would give this douchebag airtime and start the whole thing out with:

“From the wrongful wars to the corrupt economy, to the special interests in the six industries that control every politician in this country, the political system itself; 75% of all districts in the most competitive election ever weren’t even up for grabs last week and to clear our problems may require more drastic measures.”

So the wars we are fighting, which Congress voted on and approved, are wrongful because…. oh yeah, they just don’t like it. So, it doesn’t matter if all the laws were followed in the steps leading to these wars, if a lefty doesn’t like it, it’s wrong.

And the economy that is corrupt? Well, who’s responsible for creating the institutions that (as our Teleprompter Jesus likes to say) drove us into the ditch??? Let’s see – Fannie Mae was created back in 1970 when Democrats had control of both the House (243 – 192) and the Senate (57 – 43).

Fannie Mae is the one that expanded their lending under Clinton so that they gave loans to people that couldn’t afford to pay the loan back and to top it all of, in 2005 when the Bush administration pushed to get some regulatory oversight of them was met with such push back from the Democrats and RINO’s (who again controlled Congress) that it never reached the Senate floor and eventually we watched as the housing market crashed and pulled everything down with it.

As for the “Six industries that control every politician” maybe he should open his eyes a little wider. Seems to me the ones with the most union money in their pockets have always been the Democrats. Union money went 90% Democrat. As for what the ‘six industries are’ I won’t play guessing games and intuit what one he is referring to, to me this comes off as a throw away line. He spouts that and we are supposed to nod our heads and just agree without any kind of names or numbers.

The ‘author’ also likes to use big words like ‘duopoly’ (that means Republicans and Democrats together) and to them the only answer to this political turmoil that could come from within the system is that we need another FDR. Yeah, we need another FDR like we need another WWII. There is no problem that can’t be made worse by the government throwing money at it. If they REALLY wanted money to come from the top 2% and make it to the working classes, government theft of that money isn’t the way to do it. Instead might I suggest a little remembered solution to a financial crisis that Calvin Coolidge came up with? He lowered taxes across the board, reduced government spending and gave our country a little time period we refer to as “The Roaring Twenties” which saw the largest growth of the middle class that we have ever seen.

The douchebag author also scoffs at reducing the size of government. Why? Well, that would put those poor government employees out of a job which would add to unemployment. The stupidity is so thick here you would need a chainsaw to cut it. They keep talking and whining, but the part I love best is they go on about how the political system isn’t changing and that there isn’t any “third party” that is stepping in to change things. I guess neither one of them watched any of the TEA party rallies or saw how many TEA party backed candidates were elected into office across the nation.

Nope, we are a whole crapload of doom and gloom here at MSNBC. The country is lost and the only way to save it – as a last resort of course - is to have a violent revolution because no meaningful change every happens without violence.

Yeah, I can’t wait for them to try that one.

Oh, and his so called “political cartoons” are not only unfunny, but the artwork is crap.

Or, “To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, you jackass”.

I don’t like bigots. I find them to be small minded, scared, ignorant people who take their fears out on a group simply because that group exists rather than because of anything that the group has done to the individual. Plus, you would think that at this point in the United States we would be somewhat past that kind of attitude but I guess not considering what Jennifer pointed me over to at Ambulance Driver’s place.

Now, I’m with Jennifer on this. I don’t think a company should be sued because they are bigots, nor do I think that there should be laws that force us all into the correct Orwellian thought model. Nope, I think everyone should be allowed to be as much a bigoted jackass as they want to – I just want to know so I won’t do business with them. Let their business model be supported by all their other fellow bigots, but as for me I’ll find someone else.

That is why if I EVER get our dream home built and have those granite counter tops installed in my dream kitchen my wife and I will be buying that material from almost any company BUT Southern Style Granite. Yep, I will take my dollars elsewhere and they can just go about their merry way.

You guys don’t want gays shopping at your store, then you don’t want me either since I have friends who are gay.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Internet Chris and Darren Cifreo. It used to be that you could be an ass and only a few people might know about it. Now though, you’re going to get all KINDS of exposure – and trust me, just because people are talking about you doesn’t mean it’s a good thing.

Pass it around, the only appropriate reaction to a bigot is to expose them to the world and shun them the way they shun others.

Had a guy come in and grab about 25 books from our business and marketing section. He then carries this load over to the cafe, plops down in a chair and proceeds to stack them around him in a semi circle like he’s making a little fortress of solitude.

Finally our GM goes over and asks him if he is planning on purchasing any of them.

“No, I’m just doing some research for a paper I have in my marketing class.”

“Well” says my GM, “We are actually trying to sell these books and that’s pretty hard to do when you have taken them all. I’d appreciate it if you would put them back if you aren’t going to buy them.”

And what does douche-bag marketing student say?

“That’s not very good customer service, man. I may not shop here again.”

You ain’t shopping here NOW, jackass.

*********

Overheard a customer trying to remember a book title with his girlfriend so I stepped in.

“Are you thinking of ‘Germs, Guns and Steel?”

“Yeah, that’s the title.”

“It’s upstairs in the Biology section.” I point out where it is since I am at the register and can’t take them up there myself.

Five minutes later he’s back with his book and a smart ass look on his face. “It wasn’t in Biology. It was in the SCIENCE section.”

I gave him a flat look. “Right. BIOLOGY is a SCIENCE.”

I think I confused him.

***********

To all you wanna be interior decorators, wedding planners, personal trainers, chefs, fashion designers, web designer, MCST’s, and prospective grad students. BUY THE DAMN BOOK OR PUT IT BACK!

***********

I have not, nor will I, read the Twilight ‘Saga’, The Sookie Stackhouse books, anything by Nora Roberts, or the Vampire Diaries. I have entirely the wrong set of chromosomes for that.

***********

“There’s a book you guys had here last week and I can’t find it now.”

Now the sad part here is I saw this guy last week with the book he is wanting. He had a cup of coffee too. Just a few minutes after he left the store I found the same book in the corner with coffee spilled all over it.

“Yes sir, we did but someone spilled coffee on it so we had to throw it away.”

“Well when will you get a new one?” Not even an ‘oh, really’. I knew he did it and he knew I knew.

“We probably wont for a while. I could order it for you.”

“Dang. I really wanted to read it.”

“Well, sir” I said, “I could special order it and we would have it here in a few days.”

“I don’t want to buy it, I just want to read it.”

And people wonder why I hate our customers sometimes.
