Dear Reader says so

Obama said it’s important to remember that the U.S. is still the largest receiver of foreign investment in the world and things like stability, openness and innovative free market culture are attractive. He also said there are a lot of things that make foreign investors see the U.S. as a great opportunity – like stability, openness, our innovative free market culture.

“But we’ve been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted — well, people will want to come here and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America, Obama said.

He then went on to say things his administration has done like setting up Select USA that organizes government agencies in an attempt to make it easier for foreign investors to set up a plant in the U.S.

Uh-huh. It’s always us plebeian workers who are sitting on our ass or out playing golf while Dear Reader must carry us on his broad shoulders into the future because we are to lazy to walk there ourselves.

It couldn’t be that we aren’t getting investments from outside, or inside, our own country because we have had a Congress that has created a labyrinth of bureaucratic rules that no sane person could ever make sense of, or because we have regulatory groups like the EPA, NLRB, and OSHA that create their rules from ideology rather than rational thought processes like a normal human would – no, that can’t be it.

I will also bet that the “Unicorn and Rainbows” legislation that is Obamacare – whoops, the Dems don’t want to use that phrase anymore - the “United States (you won’t have any) healthcare plan – yeah, that didn’t kill any job at all, did it? Bet it’s just made foreign investors say “Damn, let’s get a piece of that action. I mean, look how well Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have worked out! What could go wrong with this?”

I will also bet someone’s money, not my own – not that dumb, that the payoffs to Democrat supporters and bundlers commonly known as the “Stimulus Package” didn’t hurt anything either, right? I mean, it’s not like businesses and people aren’t going to have to pay off the debt that our government created by spending worse than a drunken sailor on shore leave. Hell, I knew to stop drinking when I was out of cash – Congress isn’t that smart and Obama is on the bottom of THAT bell curve.

It’s not like Boeing had created 1,000 jobs in South Carolina before they were sued by the NLRB. The reason? They weren’t union jobs.

You know, things like that wouldn’t make a company reconsider expanding, or even investing, in the American marketplace. When the rules of the game keep changing in the middle of the game, how many people will really want to play?

I understand that the word for this would be chutzpah

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration accused Iran on Thursday of entering into a “secret deal” with an Al Qaeda offshoot that provides money and recruits for attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Treasury Department designated six members of the unit as terrorists subject to U.S. sanctions.

The U.S. intelligence community has in the past disagreed about the extent of direct links between the Iranian government and Al Qaeda. Thursday’s allegations went further than what most analysts had previously said was a murky relationship with limited cooperation.

After allowing the ATF to sell guns to the Cartels, many of which have landed in the hands of MS13, one of the most violent gangs in the United States as well as arming the Sinaloa cartel, not to mention the fact that the State Department has also been helping arm the Zeta cartel the Obama administration is pissing and moaning that Iran is doing something bad.

So how is Iran arming terrorists different and/or worse than our own government arming narco-terrorist?? Oh, because one wants to kill us and the other wants to kill us too??

Maybe they should clean up their own act in Washington before doing too much chest thumping over what other other countries are doing.

The Feds have no comment about how a couple of convicted felons were able to purchase over 300 firearms WHILE THEY WATCHED ON CLOSED CIRCUIT TV!

In the latest chapter of the gunrunning scandal known as Operation Fast and Furious, federal officials won’t say how two suspects obtained more than 360 weapons despite criminal records that should have prevented them from buying even one gun.

Under current federal law, people with felony convictions are not permitted to buy weapons, and those with felony arrests are typically flagged while the FBI conducts a thorough background check.

However, according to court records reviewed by Fox News, two of the 20 defendants indicted in the Fast and Furious investigation have felony convictions and criminal backgrounds that experts say, at the very least, should have delayed them buying a single firearm. Instead, the duo bought dozens of guns on multiple occasions while federal officials watched on closed-circuit cameras.

So, while we hear more and more from the anti’s about how we need stronger gun control and we need to ‘close loopholes’ so that the bad guys can’t buy guns (even though most bad guys just steal them), here we have the federal agencies that are responsible for making sure that the people buying guns aren’t criminals turning a blind eye to the whole situation while they catch it on tape.

It seems more and more obvious to me that this is a situation of the government causing a major problem in order to then be able to come in and “fix it” through more totalitarian controls.

Syndrome would be proud.

When asked about the breakdown, Stephen Fischer, a spokesman for the NICS System, said the FBI had no comment. However, ATF Special Agent John Dodson, who worked the Fast and Furious investigation, said NICS officials called the ATF in Phoenix whenever their suspects tried to buy a gun. That conversation typically led to a green light for the buyers, when it should have stopped them.

Of course they have no comment. Any lie they tell would be found out and they sure as hell don’t want us to know the truth. Everyone that was involved in this should be fire or in jail, and the agency shut down.

The Indiana Supreme Court has decided that your home is not, in fact, your castle and that the 4th Amendment to the Constitution is apparently outdated and old fashioned.

“We believe … a right to resist an unlawful police entry into a home is against public policy and is incompatible with modern Fourth Amendment jurisprudence,” David said. “We also find that allowing resistance unnecessarily escalates the level of violence and therefore the risk of injuries to all parties involved without preventing the arrest.”

David said a person arrested following an unlawful entry by police still can be released on bail and has plenty of opportunities to protest the illegal entry through the court system.

I see, they did this to protect us from an escalation of violence. Right. How about this thought instead – Officer wants to illegally come into the person’s home, the person says no and THE OFFICER DOESN’T ENTER. PERIOD. When the officer does enter, and you resist I would then say that the arrest should be deemed illegal and anything gained from the entry be considered ‘Fruit of the Poisonous Tree”

At the end of the article it becomes clearer that the Indiana Supreme Court is looking for a more fascist way to control the public because they earlier gave this ruling.

This is the second major Indiana Supreme Court ruling this week involving police entry into a home.

On Tuesday, the court said police serving a warrant may enter a home without knocking if officers decide circumstances justify it. Prior to that ruling, police serving a warrant would have to obtain a judge’s permission to enter without knocking.

So, an officer now can make up a reason that he wants to enter the home, not knock, break in and the homeowner has no recourse at all except through a civil lawsuit. Plus, the police will be able to use whatever they find in court even though the homeowners rights under the Constitution were blatantly violated.

All we can hope is that the US Supreme Court hears this case and reverses it, otherwise I see very bad times ahead for the Hoosier state.

H/T to SnarkyBytes

Yes, boys and girls, forget all about the drug dealers south of the border, there is a worse threat that our government needs to address – the Amish. Worse than crack, meth, or even a conservative with a bible and guns, the Amish have been selling – horror of horrors – raw milk to willing consumers who have given them money for it!!

So, in the name of freedom, justice and the free market system, the FDA has stepped in to put a stop to this dastardly situation. Why how DARE the consumer decide that they want to purchase a product that the FDA doesn’t want them to!! We should be grateful that the US government has stepped in and put an end to this practice.

“It is the FDA’s position that raw milk should never be consumed,” said Tamara N. Ward, spokeswoman for the FDA, whose investigators have been looking into Rainbow Acres for months, and who finally last week filed a 10-page complaint in federal court in Pennsylvania seeking an order to stop the farm from shipping across state lines any more raw milk or dairy products made from it.

So what if it’ the FDA’s position, who the hell are they to decide what I can or cannot eat. As long as the farmer in question has made it clear that this is raw milk I am buying, get the hell out of my way and find something better to do.

This is the problem with the government today. The FDA started off with the goal of making sure that the food we were buying is safe and that the drugs put on the market won’t kill you. Yes, it’s a good thing that they make sure sanitary guidelines are followed so that we have a standard of cleanliness we can expect when our Wheaties are boxed up and shipped to our home, but on the other hand, if I want to knowingly by something they don’t approve of, THAT IS MY RIGHT AS AN AMERICAN!

They are not my babysitter, mother, wife or girlfriend. The idea that they can decide to shut down a business because they disapprove of the produce is – well, to be honest – exactly the kind of crap I have come to expect from this administration. Worse is how much law enforcement resources were wasted and how much money was spent on this ‘investigation’ all to stop willing consumers from purchasing a product that, until the 1930′s, was the way everyone in this country got their milk, and in many parts of Europe they still get it today – raw and straight from the cow.

I haven’t posted on the tragedy that happened in Arizona for the same reason as many others – it’s all been said by people much better than myself and much more eloquently. But now, before even a week has passed, the left is trotting out new laws that will somehow magically protect us from deranged individuals who have murder on their mind.

The latest is to bring back a ban on “high capacity magazines”

Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.) will introduce legislation next week capping ammunition magazines at 10 bullets, she announced Thursday.

McCarthy, whose husband was killed during a commuter train shooting in 1993, has said all week that she’d be proposing legislation to ban high-capacity clips like those allegedly used in Saturday’s shooting in Arizona. But she hadn’t specified the maximum number of bullets, hoping instead that some flexibility on her part might entice GOP leaders to support the bill.

Somehow, I guess, if the magazine capacity is limited to ten bullets that will make a criminal stop in his tracks and say “Gee, I guess I won’t commit this crime if I can’t have MORE than ten rounds.” Because, you know, we can’t do ANYTHING with a gun that carries six, five, seven, or even eight rounds in it. Nope. Perfectly safe. It’s only when you go above ten rounds that all the crazies come out and start arming up.

Seriously, this kind of idiocy is what is passing for thoughtful legislation??

The New York Democrat said it’s impossible to estimate the effects of her proposal, but it will “ultimately save lives.”

“The only purpose for the existence of these devices is to be able to shoot as many people as possible as quickly as possible,” McCarthy wrote Thursday in a “Dear Colleague” letter to House members. “There is no reason that these devices should be available to the general public.”

Save lives?? Really?? How? This law will save no more lives that the so-called “Assault weapons ban” saved lives. I guess she might pull some ‘study’ out that was paid for by a Soros backed anti-gun group, but I would trust something like that as much as I would trust any climate research data given to me by the UN.

And while she may view a magazine that carries more than ten rounds as something that is designed to kill “as many people as possible as quickly as possible” I would ask how this is a bad thing if you are defending a group against multiple hostile targets? They always portray is as “The bad guys use this item in this way so we need to take it away from everyone!” What sense does that make? Yes, you can fire more rounds before reloading, but if I have five hostile targets I would rather have a fifteen round magazine and be able to have three shots at each target than only having two shots.

If those in Congress really wanted to save lives instead of trying to disarm us at every turn they would instead do everything they can to make sure that law abiding citizens had the full force of the second amendment behind them. We would see Congress that instead of trying to turn us all into sheep at the mercy of wolves, would instead allow us to turn ourselves into wolfhounds who are able to take the wolves down on our own.

But that, I suppose, would make us less dependent on the benevolent protection of our ‘lords and masters’ in the Federal government. Every city that has enacted strict gun control laws has seen their crime go up. This kind of law would be the first step in seeing crime go up nation wide.

When I was in school and a bully would try and pick on me I was always told “Go and tell a teacher, fighting is wrong!” I knew when they said it the first time that they were full of shit and every time after that just proved me more and more right.

See, bullies would never come after you when a teacher was around and then when they DID come after you there was no way to get a teacher because the bully was in between you and them. Same thing with bad guys and insane bad guys, they aren’t attacking where people are carrying guns. They are going to “Gun Free” zones. They aren’t showing up at the local police station and trying to shoot it up; they are going to the local colleges where they know the police presence is low and victim presence is high.

And the thing about bullies is this – they hate it when you can fight back. You knock them on their ass and they will run for the hills. They want sheep not wolfhounds! The more we fight back and defend ourselves against these kinds of acts, the less they will happen.

Also, on a side note, do you think that terrorists who want to bring war to our homes aren’t watching all of this and have a pretty good idea of where to hit to cause the most casualties in the least amount of time? If you think they aren’t then I have some swampland I want to sell you.

Just like the madman in Arizona, they are watching and planning. The last thing we need is Congress helping them out by taking away our ability to defend ourselves because they are sticking their heads in the sand and living some sort of lefty fantasy land.

A big H/T to Extrano’s Alley where I first read about this stupidity

A school district in Philadelphia has been spying on it’s students – in their HOMES!

According to the suit, the school district in the hoity-toity suburb of Lower Merion Township issued laptops to its high school students for them to use in class and at home. These laptops came with a catch, though: They were outfit with software that allowed the district to turn on the computers’ webcams whenever they wanted and record what was going on.

Really?!?! Are you fucking kidding me!!?! Who in the HELL came up with this fucking harebrained idea?? I have never been an advocate of students needing computers in high school for class, much less school resources being spent on laptops, software, tech support and all the other crap that goes along with them when that money could be used for art, teachers, sports and extra curricular activities.

Sure, have a class with computers in it for the computer programing classes, or animation, whatever. Or have them in the library for research, but I can’t see the need to provide every student with their own laptop. Apparently, the reason for students having their own school issued laptop was so they could be spied on.

Incredibly, the school district allegedly saw nothing unusual about this and actually disciplined a child, Blake Robbins, for “improper behavior in his home,” using photo evidence gathered surreptitiously from the webcam as part of its case. It’s unclear so far if the school was also collecting other information like emails and web browsing activity. Either way, the district didn’t disclose to the students or their parents that there would be any monitoring via the webcam.

So, we have unknown persons who are able to turn on the webcams whenever they want. And since those same persons probably have access to the list of who has what laptop I am going to guess that they were able to look any time they wanted to at say, the cheerleaders in the school, or maybe the jock football players and capture screen images of them in various stages of undress.

Personally, if this was my child that this happened to, I would be in a state of pissed off that I rarely visit and stay in long enough to hurt someone very badly. Who the HELL do these people think they are that they can just spy on underage kids whenever they want to? I would like to see each and every person involved in this brought up on criminal charges, fired, and then thrown in jail for a very long time.

Schools are supposed to be a place for our kids to learn, they are NOT replacements for the parents and for this district to decide that they somehow have a right to do this is unfathomable. It shows that they are completely out of touch with reality and have no place in education or in dealing with kids.

Everyone of these idiots should be thrown in jail. I want to know the times, dates and computers they activated and who did it.

I will bet dollars to doughnuts that this system was abused in a very big way.

Yet another reason I’m going to do homeschooling.

Here’s a teaser. You should really read the whole thing

This morning, the fate of Boston’s most infamous illegal immigrant, Zeituni Polly Onyango (also known as “Aunt Zeituni”) will be determined in a closed-door hearing.

Why in secret? Because Auntie’s saga reveals every embarrassing truth that amnesty advocates and open-borders liberals like Mayor Tom Menino and Gov. Deval Patrick try to hide.

The most important being that illegal immigrants don’t get that way without first doing something, well, illegal.

But hey, if we expect the laws to be enforced, we are a bunch of racist, tea-bagging haters, right?

Aunt Zeituni donated $260 to her nephew’s campaign for president – which is also against the law because she’s not a U.S. citizen. How against the law is it? Remember when the president launched his unprecedented attack against the Supreme Court during his State of the Union? His complaint was that foreigners might donate money to influence U.S. elections.

All these crimes extend from the first crime – violating our immigration laws. It is simply impossible to stay in this country illegally without committing other crimes, like tax fraud and identity theft.

Everything that is wrong with the system is in full play with Obambi’s Aunt.
